ENTANGLED SERIES TEN

She looked agitated and declined the offer of drinking something. Yaw looked at them and asked if they wanted to be excused. But the wife’s mien changed suddenly as if to say he should not move from his seat. Kwame asked her if she was comfortable talking with them around. Leticia pretended not to have noticed them. She had also heard the rumor and didn’t want to be in the middle of their relationship.

    

 What she needed to tell kwame was urgent and even if they didn’t stay during their conversation she knew it would spread no matter what. The hospital was big but rumors went about really quick amazingly. The three sat there looking straight at her face. She didn’t mind their being there but she was beginning to feel really uncomfortable.

She cleared her throat and said "I’m pregnant’’ Kwame’s expression changed immediately then he said’’ excuse me?’

 "Don’t worry about this…this is not your problem. We had never been intimate"

she continued to say how she found out recently that she was pregnant. After drinking heavily the other day he asked them out of his house she felt an abdominal pain so she had herself checked by one of the doctors in the hospital and found out that she was two months pregnant.

She had been pregnant before she came to the hospital. Leticia told them that she was there to say goodbye to them since she wanted a fresh start and was going to travel out of the country. ’I contributed to making your life a bit difficult and though I felt something for you I hope you can be happy with shika’

 Kwame breathe in deeply and smiled. He didn’t have anything to say. He was shocked but was happy that he didn't take this decision. After few seconds the seriousness of the situation dawned on him.

 He loved her but Shika had been with him through thick and thin. She held on to him even when he was being foolish. Leticia got up to leave and picked up her hand bag. Yaw gave her a nod and she forced a smile. She didn't bother to look at Linda but then she heard Kwame call out her name and so she turned.

 He had opened his arms and still had a smile on his face. Tears rolled down her eyes. There was not much to say so she got close and hugged him. He held her so close for he knew this was the last time he was going to set his eyes again on Leticia James.
