His
cell phone rang and he shook violently. He was sweating profusely. He had slept on
the couch and had a nightmare again. This was the second time he was having this
kind of dream and it scared him now. The whole place was very dark and it took
him a while to regain his composure. He got up and dragged himself to the switch
and put on the light. He had been lying down for too long. It was half past
midnight. His body ached
He came back for the phone and saw that shika
had called him several times. It rang again but he put the phone on silent. It
was too late for her to be calling and he still had the dream he had imprinted
on his mind. He knew that thinking about it was the reason why he was dreaming
it. And the same dream the second time should mean something. After some few
minutes he heard a car honk. He peeped through the window to check who it was and
to his bewilderment it was shika it was obvious she came there because he
didn’t pick up her call. He opened the door to let her in.
Shika seemed satisfied to see him. She
hugged him, walked past him and sat down. When he got close to where she was
sitting, she probed him on why he didn’t pick up her calls and when he started
to explain she cut him off and asked him to sit by her. He didn’t want to argue
and moreover it was 2 in the morning. As soon as he sat next to her she laid on
the couch and placed her head on his lap. Kwame shook his head and smiled. He
watched her as she slept peacefully on his lap. She looked more beautiful. He
knew he had a weakness for her. Maybe he didn’t want to admit it
He soon fell asleep and by the time he
woke up shika had already left for work but had prepared his breakfast and left
a note saying she would bring him lunch. He smiled when he read this. He had
decided to follow his heart and go in for Leticia but shika was not making it
any easier for him .Leticia on the other hand had pulled away. He had a week
more to be at home. He wanted to go back to work but he was getting use to
lazing about all day.
Shika brought him his lunch as
promised. They were still getting along nicely and both pretended that Leticia
did not exist or so she thought.she also didn't want to talk about how he had humiliated her in front of leticia. They chatted and laughed and shika disclosed
to him what his friend Yaw had been through. His wife suspected him of
infidelity. They laughed about the drama she put up just because he suspected
her husband was cheating. 'Whoever the girl was, if Linda got hold of her, there
was going to be fireworks that day' shika added.
