He then imagined what going back to the hospital will
mean. He had foolishly confessed his love to Leticia already who was now aware
that he and Shika had something going on. The chaos had started in the office
he had heard. And he knew he had to face them. He was sure of one thing….his
love for Leticia but he also felt this attraction between himself and Shika and
that was not normal.
He wondered
if it was because of the intimacy they shared. Either way he felt something for
both girls and he had a month to figure things out and make the right pick
before going to the office that is of course if they didn’t show up in his house at the same
time. He chuckled t that thought and laid on the couch to rest before stepping
out.
After
fifteen minutes he shook violently and woke up only to find that he had been
dreaming…he sighed in relief but felt sharp pain in his neck. Apparently he didn’t lie
down well and that affected his neck. He held that part and applied pressure
then got up and headed straight to the kitchen. He was not much of a cook and
for the last few days it was either he ate out or Shika voluntarily prepared
him something.
It seemed
like people were visiting at the moment he wanted to get out because as soon as
he locked his front door and turned Shika stood there beaming with smiles. She
was carrying something and as if she knew he would be hungry at that moment.
she had prepared food and brought it to his house. He was delighted because the
truth was, he had nowhere in mind to go to. They both went back indoors and Shika
helped him serve the food into a plate. It was rice and kontomire stew and it
smelled really good. They sat together at the dining table and Shika watched as
he ate the food. She was pleased that he enjoyed her food .They didn’t say much
to each other. But for some reason she was content that he was with her.
Suddenly the
door bell rang and Shika went ahead to open the door. To her utter dismay it
was Leticia .she had also brought food for him. she looked at her with smirk on
her face." what the hell are you doing here you …devil?" Shika asked but before
she could say anything else Leticia forcefully yanked her aside and entered. Shika
pulled her back by the hair violently. Her head was throbbing and was outraged
by Shika’s conduct.
Leticia
turned to punch her but she was too quick and dodged the punch. She let go of
her hair and they were glaring at each other. Shika muttered something but
Leticia hear and didn’t care .what exactly do you want from him Shika asked
rudely but Leticia turned to leave. You will answer me when I ask you question
she continued. Leticia with smirk on her face told her that perhaps she wanted
the same thing that Shika was going after .This riled her anger.
"I want him
and there is nothing you or anybody can do about it" Leticia told her. Shika
retorted "you witch…there is no way that I m going to allow you to get him…you
don’t love him like I do..You are …Leticia cut in immediately…listen girl I
don’t need this from you. I didn’t come here to see you I just came to give him
food and leave."
"He is fine…I
fed him already …leave here with this …thing" she said looking at what she was
holding with disgust. Leticia gleefully said ‘let him tell me that himself….Excuse
me’’ but again Shika pulled her back and Leticia dropped her basket with the
food inadvertently. She was fuming now because it took her while to prepare the
food and so was hurt that he didn’t get to eat it. It was obvious Shika was
indeed desperate but her intention was not to snatch her supposed boyfriend. Kwame
had told her everything that transpired between them and she didn’t want to
blame her. Sooner than later Shika would have to learn that she is the only
woman that he had longed for. He wanted to be with her and for some reason she
also wanted him. She found him very attractive the first time she laid her eyes
on him even though he was on his sick bed. She knew jumping into new
relationship after the failed one was not healthy but dammed the consequence
.The fact that she was not prepared for this one made it more exciting for her.
Even if it
meant stepping on some people to get him she didn't care. But at the moment she
was facing one obstacle (Shika)who was also not ready to let go. She wondered if
perhaps Shika had figured things wrong. Kwame proposed love to her not the
other way round. They just stood there staring at each other for almost minute.
Leticia looked down on her food that was on the floor and shouted out for Kwame.
Shika grabbed her by the hand and
attempted to throw her out of the house but Kwame walked in on them.
