‘‘What
is going on here?" he asked in composed way. They both began to yell at the same
time. Kwame couldn't make sense of what they
were saying. He was not feeling too good so was not in the position to fuel
their anger or talk to them. "leave my house, both of you …i
want to rest for a while" Shika started to say
something but Kwame turned and left both ladies
bewildered.
Leticia was taken back and Shika stood there transfixed. It took her while to realize that he was serious. She followed him to the kitchen and found that he had gone back to finish his food and Leticia didn't bother to clean the mess and walked out in a huff.
She didn't say anything to him, picked her bag and left. Leticia was also out of the room when she got into the hall. She stood by her car and chuckled when she saw Shika coming out. She backed out into the street with some speed and Shika followed suit. They were both amazed that he asked them out.
He was
so cool about it. Instead of listening, he asked
them out of his house. As Shika drove home she thought about what Kwame did. She had thought that Leticia was pushing herself
on him. But with this display she knew he was not certain of what he wanted.
If Shika loved anything about a man it was because he went for what
he wanted without delay.
She was beginning to feel uncomfortable and she didn't like that feeling. She wished Kwame would have asked Leticia out instead of humiliating her in the presence of Leticia. At least that was what she thought. Leticia drove to bar to have drink. She also thought about what Kwame did. He could have ordered Shika out easily. She took two shots of brandy but it was not enough.
She asked the barman for another shot. Her thoughts were running wild. He was unruffled and it looked as if it didn't bother him. The barman was looking at her. "Don’t just stand there gawping…pour me another shot." She yelled.
